Review Hairdressing of Petersfield recently entered Creative Head’s ‘Most Wanted 2018’ Salon Team Awards and British Hairdressing Journal Business Award for ‘Best Salon Team 2018’.  They approached me to create their award entry submission.

The Brief
The award brief asked 3 simple questions:

• What do your team mates love about you?
• How long have you worked at the salon?
• Tell us about a recent achievement you are celebrating?

And supply 3 case studies to illustrate your excellence teamwork.

My Approach
I produced an A3 booklet with the help of creative writer Lesley Hussell and photographer Jackie King. I was inspired by how full of life and energy the Review team were when I met them – always out partying and celebrating each other’s successes, birthdays, births, passing their driving test, engagements, even going on holiday together. It felt natural to use a theme of celebration. I based the design on glitter and gold and a party atmosphere really summed up this hard-working team.

Lesley’s listening and writing skills got the best answers out of the nervous hairdressers, discovering the oldest was 77 and the younger just 17. Jackie made them feel at ease in front of the camera, (who likes having their photo taken?), she really captured the spirit of the team.

I added lots of sparkles to the design and used a soft background tone to give the finished booklet a rich feel.

Review Salon Team are proud to be shortlisted in the finalists. Now we are waiting for the results! Watch this space…
