Alitex design and manufacture more than just Victorian style greenhouses and conservatories; they create unique spaces where plants thrive, and more importantly, people flourish. 

Brief

Alitex commissioned a magazine advertising photoshoot. My brief was to style the greenhouse for the photo shoot. The theme for the advertising was ‘Get together – More than just a greenhouse.’

Inspiration

These wonderful structures are for so much more than just growing plants – they are an inspirational place to spend time. I wanted to create a relaxed evening with friends in the greenhouse complete with cocktail bar, and to portray the vibrancy, fun and intimacy that the greenhouse brings to a get-together.

Approach

I created the relaxed feel, gathering items from my studio – bright cushions, basket ware, an old typewriter, a selection of textured pots, a wire frame manikin, large outdoor lanterns, botanical flower posters, bunches of dalhias, colourful tablecloth and a mixture of modern and vintage crockery and glasses. And of course a good selection of spirits for the cocktail bar. We had the constraints of partial-lockdown to deal with – with social gatherings limited to groups of 6. But luckily that was the perfect number for the shoot.
